A policy brief exploring overlooked social drivers of AMR and proposed new understandings of AMR to improve the way countries design and implement NAPs to mitigate this complex, global challenge. These new conceptions highlight how antimicrobials serve as essential infrastructure; how microbial ecosystems evolve as humans interact with the environment; and how addressing AMR requires collective action.
