Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) crosses the boundaries among human, animal, plant, and environmental health, so One Health governance plays a crucial role in tackling AMR by helping these sectors work together.
To date, existing literature highlights factors for successful One Health governance, but it doesn’t account for how different country contexts, like income levels and government types, can create barriers to those mechanisms.
The review identified six dimensions relevant to One Health governance success, while also finding there’s no one-size-fits-all solution: these dimensions are applied in diverse ways across contexts and are strongly influenced by existing governance structures and broader country conditions.
