GSL at the UNGA High-level Meeting on AMR

From September 24-26th GSL’s Director Mathieu Poirier and Director of Global Engagement Julia Bishop attended UN General Assembly side events and the High-level Meeting on AMR in New York City.

The High-level Meeting has been widely seen as a critical agenda-setting moment for coordinated global response to AMR. In the months leading up to the meeting, the AMR Policy Accelerator team spearheaded an expert convening, policy research, and knowledge mobilization efforts to contribute to discussions and debates on AMR policy in the areas of developing unifying global goals and the design of a scientific panel on AMR.

During UNGA, Julia Bishop participated in the “From People to Leaders ” side event, co-organized by ReAct, the Pan American Health Organization, Médecins Sans Frontières, GSL’s AMR Policy Accelerator and more.  

And during Fostering An Equitable Global Response to AMR event held by Pan-American Health Organization, the UN Foundation, the South-East Asia Regional Office of WHO, and the Wellcome Trust, Wellcome Trust CEO, John-Arne Røttingen recognized the contributions of the Wellcome-funded AMR Policy Accelerator to advancing AMR policy.

GSL contributes to new WHO Guidance on Gender and AMR
