As the world moves to implement the updated Global Action Plan on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), our team has been busy researching how the new objective on One Health governance can be realized in practice and across different contexts.
Coordination alone is not enough. Effective AMR action requires governance systems that embed scientific expertise, strengthen accountability, and foster inclusive participation while reflecting local cultural, political and resource realities.
This new article, written by GSL’s Arne Ruckert, Geneviève Boily-Larouche and Mathieu Poirier, explores what our ongoing research reveals about One Health governance and its implementation and offers an early preview of findings from our upcoming scoping review.
